(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of May 21, the Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation, Administrative Reform, and the 06/CP Project in An Giang Province convened a meeting to implement upcoming tasks. Mr. Ho Van Mung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee, presided over the session.
Also in attendance were members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, including Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Phuoc, Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, and Ngo Cong Thuc, along with leaders of provincial departments and localities.

In recent years, An Giang Province has made significant efforts in implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Resolution 03/NQ-CP of the Government, and Project 06/CP. The directive and executive work has been timely and assertive, with planning documents and action programs developed consistently from the provincial level down to the grassroots.
Digital infrastructure and data connectivity have continued to receive investment. As of now, high-speed internet is available in 100% of communes, wards, and townships; and 5G networks have been deployed in all districts, towns, and city centers. Digital transformation in public services has yielded encouraging results: more than 1,200 end-to-end online public services are available; over 99% of administrative procedures are resolved on time; and over 86% of administrative dossiers and results have been digitized.
The implementation of Project 06/CP across the province has shown positive results. Of the 18 tasks assigned in collaboration with central ministries, 5 have been completed and are being maintained regularly; 9 are in progress; and 4 are ongoing. The An Giang Provincial Police have proactively provided advice, resolved obstacles, and proposed effective solutions. Provincial departments and localities have actively promoted the program through targeted communication initiatives.
At the meeting, Steering Committee members openly discussed the advantages and challenges encountered during implementation. Notable obstacles include limited technological capacity, a small number of scientific and technological organizations and enterprises, insufficient mobilization of social resources for science and technology activities, and a low adoption rate of online public services due to limited access to modern digital devices.

In his address, Chairman Ho Van Mung urged Steering Committee members, departmental heads, and local authorities to enhance their responsibility in executing science and technology development policies, fostering innovation, and promoting digital transformation throughout the province.
He instructed the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee to coordinate with relevant units to promptly advise the Head of the Steering Committee on issuing regulations for its operation and to assign responsibilities to its members. Additionally, the office is tasked with advising the People’s Committee on handling proposals and recommendations related to science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.
Chairman Ho Van Mung emphasized that science and technology development must be a core driver of the province's sustainable growth. He particularly stressed the importance of applying science and technology in agricultural production to optimize processes and create new opportunities for the province’s agricultural products.
