An Giang holds art performances and fireworks at 4 locations

(AG Provincial E-Portal) -On the afternoon of February 9, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc chaired a meeting to review preparations for organizing activities for the Lunar New Year (Tết) Binh Ngo 2026, commemorating the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026), and celebrating the success of the Party's 14th National Congress.

The province will hold art performances and fireworks at 4 locations: Rach Gia Ward, Long Xuyen Ward, Chau Đoc Ward, and Phu Quoc Special Zone. The events will take place on the evening of February 16 (December 29 in the lunar calendar). An Giang Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to organize 2 art performances and fireworks at Tran Quang Khai Square, Rach Gia Ward, and Hai Ba Trung Square, Long Xuyen Ward. The event at Rach Gia Ward will be broadcast live on An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television channels.

The Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang Province will decorate a festive setting for people to celebrate the Lunar New Year, expected to be at the area in front of the Hero, Martyr, and Person of Merit Memorial, Rach Gia Ward. The Department will instruct its affiliated units to support districts, wards, and special zones in preparing art programs, technical equipment, and performances; and collaborate with relevant units to organize logistics, ceremony, design invitation cards, organizer and staff badges, press cards, vehicle passes, etc.

The wards, communes, and special zones are urgently preparing tasks to organize cultural and sports activities for locals and tourists before, during, and after the Lunar New Year.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc praised the efforts of departments, sectors, and localities in preparing for the Tết Binh Ngo 2026 activities, the 96th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the success of the Party's 14th National Congress.

He requested that each location hosting art performances and fireworks ensure a joyful, safe, and economical celebration. Decorations, banners, hoardings, flags, streamers and street displays should be completed by February 12 (December 25 in the lunar calendar).

Regarding the event's budget, besides government funding, localities are encouraged to mobilize social resources. If facing difficulties, they should promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee for timely guidance and support./.
