(AG Provincial E-Portal) -On August 31st, the People's Committee of An Cu Commune, in collaboration with sponsors, organized the 11th Traditional Ox Racing Festival at Ro Pagoda in 2025 to celebrate the Sene Dolta Festival of the Khmer ethnic community.


This year’s festival attracted 32 ox pairs from across An Giang province, creating an incredibly vibrant and festive atmosphere. In each race, two pairs of oxen compete through one “hô” lap and one “thả” lap, cheered on enthusiastically by a large crowd of spectators.
With seasoned expertise, the “ox jockeys” skillfully guided their pairs to race at full speed across the track, creating thrilling and dramatic moments. Along the sidelines, spectators cheered loudly, especially during the exciting sprints toward the finish line.

In the final results, ox pair No. 21 owned by Mr. Thai Binh Nguyen (Chi Lang Ward) claimed first place; ox pair No. 15 of Mr. Chau Thi (An Cu Commune) took second; and ox pair No. 02 of Mr. Chau Phi Rum (An Cu Commune) finished third.

The Ro Pagoda Ox Racing Festival is a captivating and traditional event that draws widespread attention from locals and photographers both within and beyond the province. It has become a cherished spiritual and cultural experience for the Khmer people during the annual Sene Dolta Festival./.
