In 2024, An Phu district's agricultural sector overcame challenges and achieved significant breakthroughs in agricultural production. As a result, all key targets were successfully met. Specifically, the total food production reached 235,849 tons, and the average agricultural production value per hectare was VND 193 million, reaching 101.05% of the plan, an increase of over VND 5 million per hectare compared to the previous year.

Notably, 420 hectares of rice fields were cultivated under the Sustainable Development Plan for 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice aligned with green growth in the Mekong Delta region. This contributed to the gradual realization of the province-wide goal of achieving 1 million hectares of high-quality rice production.

The District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also facilitated the certification of eight new OCOP (One Commune, One Product) three-star products, bringing the total number of certified OCOP three-star products in the district to 14 from 10 producers.

Regarding newly developed rural hamlets, eight hamlets have now met the new rural development standards, marking an increase of two compared to 2023. In addition, one new cooperative was established in 2024, bringing the district’s total to 23 cooperatives. The district has also signed an agreement with the An Giang Provincial Cooperative Alliance to coordinate support for collective economic development and cooperative expansion for the 2024-2025 period.

To ensure the successful implementation of key objectives in 2025, the conference participants discussed various strategies, including expanding the 1-million-hectare high-quality rice initiative with a target of 2,700 hectares for the year. Plans were also outlined for the development of a dedicated fruit production area for export, specifically focusing on Keo mango cultivation.
