Deputy Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho inspected the construction progress at the project to build a canopy system to preserve archaeological pits at the Oc Eo - Ba The historical site (Oc Eo commune), and the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 941 (from Bridge 16 to the intersection of 3/2 Street and Hung Vuong Street). He also visited the component project 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway construction project, phase 1 (at the intersection of Provincial Road 941, Km28+591).

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Deputy Chairman Le Trung Ho acknowledged and commended the commitment of investors, contractors, and workers who have worked through holidays and New Year to push forward key projects. He emphasized that the overtime work not only ensures project timelines but also reflects the province's determination to meet public investment disbursement targets.

Regarding the canopy system project at the Oc Eo - Ba The national historical site, Deputy Chairman Le Trung Ho noted that it's a particularly important project as the province is working with central ministries to submit a UNESCO World Heritage nomination dossier.

It's expected that a UNESCO inspection team will visit the site in June or July 2026. Therefore, completing the canopy and technical infrastructure on time and ensuring quality to protect the excavated artifacts is a top priority. Construction units are urged to exercise extreme caution, avoiding any damage to artifacts and preserving the integrity of the site during construction.

The inspection team checked the construction progress and handed gifts to workers at the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 941 (from Bridge 16 to the intersection of 3/2 Street and Hung Vuong Street)

In addition to progress and quality requirements, Mr. Le Trung Ho reminded units to prioritize labor safety, maintain work discipline, and ensure workers' health.
