An Giang launches Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025

On April 23, at Binh Hoa Industrial Park (Chau Thanh district), the Provincial Labor Federation in coordination with the Department of Home Affairs organized the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in 2025.

Attending the event were Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Dinh Thi Viet Huynh; Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Ngoc; Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Chau Van Ly, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Hoang Minh Thu, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors, leaders of Chau Thanh district, enterprises and 160 workers in Binh Hoa Industrial Park.Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Chau Van Ly requested that all levels of labor unions in the province continue to widely propagate and mobilize union members and workers to regularly study, practice, improve awareness, political capacity, and successfully complete assigned tasks; Closely coordinate with local departments, branches and sectors in implementing policies and laws to workers, civil servants and employees; pay attention to collective bargaining and labor agreements, contributing to building harmonious labor relations in enterprises.



The leaders of the government and enterprises are requested to periodically meet, listen and dialogue with workers, promptly resolve issues of concern to workers, especially issues related to housing, employment, working conditions, etc. Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor also requested business leaders to ensure jobs, income and improve working conditions for workers. At the same time, he requested workers to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity, patriotism, innovation and creativity; enhance the spirit of self-study, self-training, and participate in patriotic emulation movements.

In the coming time, the merger of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces according to Resolution 60, dated April 12, 2025 of the 13th Party Central Committee and Decision No. 759, dated April 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister on approving the Project on rearranging and reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a 2-level local government organization model will create a larger space and area; richer terrain; improve quantity and quality of human resources; local governance changes in a new way to be truly close to the people, closer to the people and proactively serve better the people... Therefore, labor unions at all levels need to create new development plans for grassroots labor unions; ensuring the principle that wherever there are workers and laborers, there are labor unions.

At the launching ceremony, the Provincial Labor Federation presented 6 Labor Union Shelter houses, with a support fund of 50 million VND for each house.

Presented 160 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, those suffering from occupational diseases or work-related accidents. Each gift is worth 1 million VND, including 700,000 VND in cash and 300,000 VND in gifts.

On the same day, the Provincial Labor Federation visited, offered flowers and incense at the Temple of President Ton Duc Thang (My Hoa Hung Commune, Long Xuyen City). The delegation respectfully commemorated and expressed their infinite gratitude for the great contributions of President Ton Duc Thang - a staunch communist soldier, an exemplary leader who devoted himself to the country and the people, an outstanding son of his homeland An Giang./.
