The event welcomed Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for Agencies and Enterprises; Mr. Lam Thanh Si, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; Mr. Đao Si Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; and 300 union members and workers representing grassroots labor unions.

In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Huu Giang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, shared that with the motto "Ensuring All Union Members and Workers Have a Joyful Tet," the federation initiated plans in October 2024 to support union members and workers during the Lunar New Year of 2025.

Through collaboration with party leaders, local authorities, and businesses, the federation implemented various activities to care for workers across the province. Over 100 billion VND was allocated from labor union budgets, government funding, and social contributions to assist nearly 115,000 workers and public employees facing difficulties.

The efforts included distributing 2,835 gift packages to union members and workers in challenging circumstances, including those with severe illnesses, occupational accidents, chronic conditions, or those working night shifts on Lunar New Year’s Eve. These packages were funded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the provincial labor union budget.

In this spirit, the Provincial Labor Federation collaborated with provincial leaders to distribute 110 gift packages from Party and State leaders, as well as leaders of the National Assembly Delegation, to union members and workers across various localities.

During the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, praised the union’s efforts:

"In 2024, An Giang’s socio-economic situation witnessed significant progress, generating a new momentum for growth and development. The labor union played a crucial role in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, ensuring labor relations stability, and improving the livelihood of workers, particularly those in challenging circumstances."

Ms. Thúy urged labor unions to closely monitor the sentiments and aspirations of workers, assess labor relations, and evaluate business performance and employer compliance with labor policies, especially concerning wages and bonuses. Timely measures should be implemented to address issues, ensuring harmonious and stable labor relations.

Entering the Lunar New Year of 2025, amid the nation’s aspirations for progress, the provincial government called upon union officials, members, and workers to unite, demonstrate resilience, and overcome challenges. They were encouraged to excel in their responsibilities, contributing to the development of a modern and robust working class and labor union system. These efforts would honor the upcoming provincial and national Party congresses.

At the event, the Provincial Labor Federation directly distributed 290 Tet gift packages from Party and State leaders to union members and workers facing hardship, particularly those in severe or extremely difficult circumstances. 

Additionally, 10 Tet gift packages were provided to union members suffering from critical illnesses or occupational accidents.Furthermore, 10 Tet gift packages were presented to children of union members and workers battling life-threatening illnesses, with the heartfelt hope that every union member and their family could enjoy a warm, fulfilling, and prosperous Lunar New Year.
