Long Xuyen City needs to continue to promote its role as a "locomotive". On behalf of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung acknowledged and commended the results and efforts of the Party Committee and the People of Long Xuyen City in the last year. At the same time, he suggested that the locality should continue to consider and find solutions for more outstanding development, worthy of the central role, the "locomotive" of the province in all fields, striving to become a specialized comprehensive economic center according to the approved planning. In 2025, the city needs to urgently complete the resolution of the year and the entire 2020-2025 term, complete the construction of a new model rural area to welcome the Congress of the City Party Committee for the term 2025-2030. 

Along with that, it should pay attention to promoting and calling for investment; disbursing public investment capital, upgrading urban areas to be worthy of type-I city; ensuring urban order, and good management of public land.
