The sector has advised the province to successfully organize many important events of the province, such as: Art performance program combined with fireworks display to welcome At Ty Lunar New Year in 2024; Via Ba Chua Xu Sam Mountain Festival in 2024 combined with the 10th anniversary from the event that Via Ba Chua Xu Sam Mountain Festival was included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage (2014 - 2024); Ceremony to commemorate the 195th anniversary of the death of the famous God Thoai Ngoc Hau (1829 - 2024); Ceremony to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the completion of Vinh Te Canal (1824 - 2024)... At the same time, the province participated and achieved high prizes at regional and national competitions, performances, and festivals organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The province's high-performance sports continue to affirm the position of the province's sports in the country, typically athletes Nguyen Thi That (Cycling) and Vo Thi Kim Anh (Boxing) of An Giang have excellently won 2 out of 16 official Vietnamese slots to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Tourism activities achieved many encouraging results, tourism indicators grew well and exceeded the economic growth scenario in 2024. An Giang welcomed about 9.1 million visitors (up 7% over the same period, estimated at 101% of the plan). Revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 10,250 billion VND (up 74% over the same period, estimated at 165% of the plan). The work of linking and cooperating in tourism development with Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and localities with domestic tourism strengths continued to be promoted and achieved positive results...

Speaking at the Conference, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of An Giang province Nguyen Khanh Hiep emphasized: The culture, family, sports and tourism sector continues to promote the achievements and overcome the limitations and shortcomings in 2024 and strive to complete the political tasks and development goals set in 2025, creating a basic premise to strive to complete the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, actively contributing with other sectors and localities to complete the socio-economic development goals of the province.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with relevant departments, branches and localities, focus on directing, operating and effectively implementing the 2025 work program and state management documents, projects, plans, programs,... for the development of the industry in the period 2021 – 2025, which have been approved by competent authorities and continue to be implemented in 2025. At the same time, step by step we will concretize administrative procedure reform according to the one-stop regulation in licensing and state management of the fields of culture, sports and tourism; simplify administrative procedures, create a friendly environment for organizations and citizens in transactions with the sector.

We continue to strengthen the organization of cultural, family, sports and tourism activities for ethnic minorities in the province, create products and events to attract tourists, serving well the needs of enjoying spiritual culture and physical training of the masses; Complete the construction of cultural and sports institutions for communes in remote, isolated and border areas from the capital of the national target program in 2025.

In addition, we continue to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in the fields of culture, family, sports and tourism; Strengthen the management, inspection and supervision of propaganda work to serve political tasks in the province, focusing on the anniversaries of major national holidays, important events of the country and the province, traditional festivals in the locality, contributing to consolidating and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in each specialized field of activity.

The province focuses on investing in preserving and embellishing historical and cultural relics; promoting the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, tangible and intangible cultural forms in the province; Consolidating, improving and maintaining cultural titles; developing diverse forms of organizing physical training and sports competitions at the grassroots level to mobilize and attract a large number of people to participate in training, especially in ethnic minority areas and border areas; Continuing to review the investment in building and maintaining a system of training high-performance athletes with a focus, key points, and in line with the competition programs of the Olympics, ASIAD, and SEA Games, in order to maintain and enhance the position of An Giang sports nationwide.
