(AG Provincial E-Portal) - The Xth Ro Pagoda Bull Racing Festival was held on September 8 at the Ro Pagoda bull racetrack in An Cu commune, Tinh Bien town, An Giang province, to commemorate the 2024 Sene Dolta Ceremony of Khmer ethnic minorities. However, they were captivated by the beauty of the folk culture of the Khmer ethnic minority in the Bay Nui region.
The event was organized by the An Cu Community People's Committee. A significant number of locals and tourists arrived at Ro Pagoda early in the morning to participate in the annual event.
24 pairs of cows from two localities in Tinh Bien town and Tri Ton district participated in this year's tournament, which was conducted in a knockout format. One pair suffered a loss. In each race, a large number of spectators from both within and outside An Giang province will enthusiastically cheer as two pairs of cows undergo one round of shouting and one round of release.
Visitors are treated to the melodious sounds of five-tone music, which contributes to the festive atmosphere of the bull racing festival.
Each race is a genuine examination of the bulldogs' courage, ingenuity, and determination to prevail.
Within the audience's enthusiastic cheers, the cows engaged in fierce competition. Each moment of competition on the track is a culmination of the determination and experience of each beggar.
The championship trophy of the Xth Ro Pagoda Bull Race was awarded to the pair of cows bearing number 02 of Mr. Chau Thi (Van Giao commune), and the second prize was won by the pair of cows No. 22 by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tien (An Phu ward), and the third prize was won by the cow No. 15 of Mr. Tran Quoc Kiet (An Phu ward).
