(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On November 2, at the Au Co Art Center in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee of the 20th National Youth and Children’s Creativity Competition held an awards ceremony, concluding the event.
The competition was organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC), in collaboration with the Central Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
At this year’s competition, An Giang proudly received two major awards, marking a significant achievement for students from the province in creative initiatives.
The 20th National Youth and Children’s Creativity Competition saw more than 900 projects, models, and creative products from students across the country. This year’s event commemorated the competition’s milestone 20th year.
An Giang was honored with two awards, including the Second Prize for the project “Smurf World” by students from Long Hung Secondary School, Tan Chau, which demonstrated exceptional creativity and high applicability.
Additionally, a Commendation Award was given to the project “Eco-Friendly Products Made from Water Hyacinth Leaves” from Long Giang Secondary School, Cho Moi. This innovative idea capitalizes on local natural resources and contributes to environmental protection.
In particular, the Organizing Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to the An Giang Union of Science and Technology Associations, one of the top ten units nationwide recognized for its efforts in promoting and organizing the competition.
This accolade is a fitting recognition of the Union’s ongoing contributions to fostering creativity and encouraging students’ pursuit of scientific research.
Among the honorees, teacher Nguyen Van Trung from Long Hung Primary School, Tan Chau (one of 20 exemplary individuals nationwide), received a Certificate of Merit for his remarkable achievements in guiding students to compete and win at the national level for several consecutive years. Over time, Mr. Trung has made significant contributions in inspiring creativity and encouraging generations of students to participate and excel in the competition.
The participation and success of An Giang’s students not only highlight their creativity but also result from efforts to promote STEM education and scientific research in schools. This will serve as a powerful motivator for An Giang’s youth to continue engaging in and contributing to creative initiatives for the community.
The competition provides a valuable platform that not only nurtures creative thinking but also fosters a love for science among young people, building a generation passionate about research and innovation for the sustainable development of the nation.
