According to the Plan, the Mekong Connect Forum 2024 is expected to be held for 1.5 days (from December 17th to 18th, 2024) at An Giang University, with the theme: "Mekong Connect 2024 - Forum to promote economic, trade and technological cooperation in the Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country towards sustainable development in the new competitive context".
Mekong Connect Forum 2024 is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committee of An Giang province.
The opening ceremony of the Mekong Connect series of activities will take place at 8:00 a.m. on December 17, 2024. Along with the exhibition activities on the theme: "Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta strengthen connections, promote internal resources towards sustainable development", with 30 - 50 units from provinces, cities and high-quality Vietnamese goods enterprises and green startups participating.
At the same time, there will be the organization of the International Green Startup Festival, exchange on "Stories - Startup Journey" of excellent green agricultural enterprises that have won awards in the past 10 years with young startup teams from provinces participating in Mekong Connect this year and international exchange: Successful experiences of international startup projects; Organization on livestream sales of agricultural products, with the theme: Promoting sustainable trade based on indigenous resources; Organization of a workshop on the theme "Developing indigenous resources and local economy through regional linkages in the new competitive context", with 300 delegates from central and local ministries and branches attending.
At 8:00 a.m. on December 18, the Plenary Session of Mekong Connect 2024 Forum will be taken place, with the theme: "Investment capital and human resources for sustainable connectivity", with about 600 delegates from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta attending.
The forum aims to realize the determination to cooperate with the entire Mekong Delta region and Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, there will be introduction to domestic and foreign investors about the potential and advantages according to the approved planning of the province, promoting regional linkages and the support of the Central Government to invest in the economic development of the province. At the same time, the province will create favorable conditions for the formation of value chain linkages, grasping market trends, orienting agricultural products, applying technology, in order to connect value chains, increase added value, promote commercialization of agricultural products and enhance market integration./.
