Creating jobs for An Giang workers

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of October 14, the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council organized a monitoring delegation at the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Provincial Social Policy Bank Branch on the results of implementing policies to support job creation, maintaining and expanding employment in the province. Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Dinh Thi Viet Huynh also attended.

From 2021 to August 2024, the Provincial Social Policy Bank Branch disbursed nearly VND 1,150 billion, approved loans to create jobs for over 23,100 workers. The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the whole province coordinated to send 1,758 workers to work abroad under contracts; supported vocational training for nearly 3,000 demobilized soldiers and policemen, youth volunteers, and 19,050 rural workers. At the same time, 28 job festivals and fairs, 168 job fair clusters were organized at the district level, attracting 1,145 businesses and 39,000 workers to participate.

The monitoring delegation and specialized agencies focused on exchanging and analyzing in-depth what has been implemented and what has not been implemented in vocational training and job creation; sending workers to work abroad under contracts; resolving unemployment insurance and one-time social insurance policies; the role of advising on State management of the labor sector among agencies, units, and localities...

Speaking at the end of the monitoring session, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of An Giang Provincial People's Council Bui Cong Bang acknowledged the results of the units' efforts, contributing to job creation and local socio-economic development. The monitoring delegation will record any difficulties and suggestions, synthesize and recommend them to the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial People's Council.

In the coming time, the units need to continue implementing policies related to vocational training, loans, and job creation; pay attention to student orientation and career guidance; strengthen inspection and management of capital sources, prevent corruption, negativity, bad debt, etc.
