Comrade Le Hong Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels in the period 2023 - 2025 of An Giang province attended and directed. Attending the ceremony were Comrade Ho Van Mung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of the leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, departments, branches, sectors of the province and localities.

At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Le Nguyen Chau, Member of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the period 2023 - 2025, announced Resolution No. 1285, dated November 14, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of An Giang province, for the period 2023 - 2025, specifically merging the entire natural area of 1.39 km2, population size of 11,470 people of Dong Xuyen ward into My Xuyen ward. After the merger, My Xuyen ward has a natural area of 2 km2 and a population size of 23,383 people. After the arrangement, Long Xuyen city has 12 commune-level administrative units, including 10 wards and 02 communes.

In general, after the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, An Giang province has 11 district-level administrative units (including 07 districts, 02 towns and 02 cities); 155 commune-level administrative units (including 110 communes, 27 wards and 18 townships).

At the ceremony, the Standing Committee of Long Xuyen City Party Committee announced and presented the Decision on the establishment of My Xuyen Ward Party Committee; Decision on appointing the Party Executive Committee, the Party Standing Committee, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of My Xuyen Ward Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Comrade Ho Van Mung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee emphasized that immediately after the Conclusion of the Politburo and the Resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government, An Giang Provincial Party Committee established a Steering Committee to implement the arrangement of administrative units at the district and commune levels in the period of 2023 - 2025. Under the drastic direction of the Steering Committee, directly by Comrade Le Hong Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee to implement the arrangement of administrative units at the district and commune levels in the period of 2023 - 2025 of An Giang province, the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, Long Xuyen city and 2 localities have actively implemented the arrangement. On behalf of the leaders of An Giang province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung commended the agencies and units for their efforts in completing well their tasks, especially he appreciated the people of My Xuyen and Dong Xuyen wards for agreeing to the merger. 

In order to effectively implement Resolution No. 1285 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, ensure progress, and comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested that departments, branches, and Long Xuyen city, especially My Xuyen ward, promote information and propaganda work on Resolution No. 1285 of the National Assembly Standing Committee to continue to create consensus among cadres, party members and people in the process of deployment and implementation; inform the location of the headquarters of agencies and units of My Xuyen ward (new) so that individuals and organizations know to contact when needed, especially to propagate and implement the conversion of documents for individuals and organizations due to changes in administrative boundaries, creating the most favorable conditions and the fastest time.

Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested to focus on arranging and perfecting the organization and apparatus of agencies and organizations to ensure the principles of unity and synchronization, meeting the requirements of preparing for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and the election of People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. Party committees and authorities of Long Xuyen city and My Xuyen ward regularly closely and promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers, especially those who are redundant after the arrangement, to have solutions and support in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the actual conditions of the province.

Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested to focus on building a development orientation for My Xuyen ward after the merger to develop further, so that the people of the new ward can have a better life. The City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Long Xuyen City coordinate with departments, branches and sectors to continue reviewing, advising on the arrangement, management and use of headquarters and public assets after they are arranged in accordance with regulations, reasonably, economically and effectively, without waste or negativity, and at the same time have solutions to concentrate resources to build new agencies and headquarters to meet the requirements of performing tasks, public services for the people ./.
