In the context of digital transformation, Vietnam rose to 71st place out of 193 countries in the United Nations' e-Government Development Index (EGDI) ranking, which was announced in September 2024. This is the first time Vietnam has been ranked in the "Very High" EGDI group. Vietnam is one of the few developing countries to have stopped offering 2G subscription services, with the remaining 2G subscribers representing only 0.2%. As of now, the nationwide rate of online submission of administrative procedures has reached 45%, which is 2.5 times higher than in 2023. In implementing Project 06, all 63 provinces and cities, as well as 17 out of 21 ministries and sectors, have completed the connection of their electronic data management system for organizations and individuals with the national administrative procedure system and public service portal. All ministries, sectors, and localities have deployed digital transformation solutions using VneID as the single account for administrative procedures and online public services. As of December 10, 2024, the digitization rate of administrative procedures at the local level reached 67.06%, and at the ministry level, it reached 60.98%.
For An Giang Province, in its digital transformation efforts, the province aims to achieve targets related to promoting the development of digital technology enterprises operating in the area. These enterprises, especially those in industrial zones and border economic zones, are expected to apply digital platforms for management and production, changing production-business processes to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and reduce emissions. The province also seeks to increase the rate of adult citizens using online public services. Additionally, the province aims to complete the implementation of 53 essential public services, including 25 services under Project 06 and 28 services under Decision 422/QD-TTG, dated April 4, 2022, by the Prime Minister, which approves the list of online public services integrated and provided on the National Public Service Portal in 2022./.
