Specifically, the actual water level measured at 8:00 a.m. on September 4, 2024 at the upstream of Tra Su sluice was 1.68 m, at the downstream of the sluice was 1.45 m; at the upstream of Tha La sluice was 1.81 m, at the downstream of the sluice was 1.52 m. Accordingly, the difference in water levels in the upstream and downstream areas of the two sluices at the time of opening the sluices was approximately 0.30 m.
Because the summer-autumn rice crop has been harvested, the management unit has opened sluice gates to regulate floods, bring alluvium from Hau River to improve the fields, and provide water for irrigation of about 17,500 hectares of natural land during the dry season. At the same time, it also helps control floods in Long Xuyen Quadrangle with a natural area of 498,141 hectares in 3 provinces and cities: An Giang, Kien Giang, and Can Tho city. /.
