At the meeting, the leaders of the three provinces: An Giang, Dong Thap, and Ca Mau reported on the results of their activities in the early months of the year and their direction and solutions for the remaining months, focusing on socio-economic development, public investment disbursement, import-export, infrastructure development, social housing, the "Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses" movement, and national target programs. They also proposed several recommendations to the government and central ministries to address difficulties and obstacles, helping the provinces achieve their political tasks in the near future.

Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang stated that in the context of the nation's economic recovery and strong development, An Giang has closely followed the guidance of the central government, focusing on directing and managing socio-economic development with synchronized tasks and solutions, striving to achieve the set growth target. This has been supported by the people and the business community. The provincial party committee has thoroughly embraced the policy of the Central Party Committee on the 2025 economic and social development plan, targeting growth of 8% or more. An Giang has studied, learned, and directed the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to advise on the implementation of these goals.

Preliminary results show that since the beginning of the year, An Giang's economy and society have achieved significant progress: First, economic growth has maintained a high rate, with the GRDP in the first quarter of 2025 estimated to increase by 7.2% compared to the same period in 2024. Manufacturing, trade, and services have made positive strides; public investment disbursement from the beginning of the year until the end of March 2025 is approximately 645 billion VND, reaching 6.38% of the plan. Healthcare, education, culture, and social welfare have continued to improve, and national security and defense have been ensured.

An Giang has seriously implemented the resolutions and policies of the Party and the State on restructuring organizational structures for efficiency and effectiveness, and the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. These are seen as key factors to drive further development across other areas, accelerating progress towards the next stage.

Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang emphasized, "An Giang is committed to the goal of rapid and sustainable development, effectively implementing the Party and State's policies while considering the local conditions. With the unity and determination of the Party committee, the government, and the people, along with the valuable support from the central government, An Giang will continue to make steady progress on the path of sustainable development, contributing positively to the national development and entering a new era of growth for the nation."

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh praised the efforts of the Provincial Party Committees and People's Committees of An Giang, Dong Thap, and Ca Mau for implementing government resolutions. The economic and social development situation in the three provinces in the first months of 2025 has shown positive progress. Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation has been actively implemented. The implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW on improving and restructuring the political system and ensuring efficiency has also been rigorously followed. National programs, public investment disbursement, and site clearance have shown positive changes.

However, to achieve the growth target of 8% or more in 2025, the three provinces—An Giang, Dong Thap, and Ca Mau—must make a greater effort and determination. Specific growth plans for each area must be clarified, and responsibilities must be assigned to ensure timely resolution of difficulties, especially in Dong Thap and Ca Mau, which must focus on improving growth in area 1.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh urged the provinces to urgently complete the allocation of public investment funds by March, push forward the disbursement of these funds, especially for key national and provincial projects, as this will be a significant driver for economic growth. In addition, social resources should be mobilized to support the "Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses" movement, with a goal of completing this task by 2025. Furthermore, administrative reforms should be accelerated, improving the provincial competitiveness index, creating a better investment environment to attract businesses, and streamlining administrative procedures to better serve the public and businesses.

Regarding the proposals from An Giang, Dong Thap, and Ca Mau, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh assigned the Government Office to compile the recommendations. Those within the government's authority will be reported to the Government, while those under the central ministries’ responsibility will be promptly addressed in writing. Once difficulties are resolved, the provinces should cooperate to ensure swift and effective implementation.
