(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of 17th June, at Km0+314 (Chau Doc City), Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung led the provincial and local working delegation to inspect the construction progress of component project 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project, phase 1. Leaders of Antraco Joint Venture Company Limited, construction contractors, design consultants, supervision consultants... also attended.

To date, the construction output has reached 50.89% (exceeding about 0.04%) of the contract value. Sand suppliers have provided 4.7 million m3 out of the total volume of 9.3 million m3 of sand needed for the project. The total capital allocated at the beginning of 2025 is 3,449 billion VND (of which, the central budget is 3,396 billion VND; the provincial budget is more than 53 billion VND); 1,149 billion VND has been disbursed, reaching 33.3%.
Currently, the expressway component 1 project is being urgently implemented to ensure compliance with the Prime Minister's direction (complete the entire project in July 2026). Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung praised the agencies, units, localities, contractors, and workers for their great efforts in the past time; together they have overcome major difficulties in terms of raw materials and supplies. Although the entire political system is focusing on the process of merging and rearranging administrative units at all levels, it is impossible to neglect the task of constructing key projects in general, and the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway in particular.
After listening to the relevant units report on the progress of work adjustment, difficulties encountered in material supply, techniques, etc., the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Project Management Board and contractors to closely monitor the progress, report at least once a week to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; have a plan to increase means, equipment, and human resources to further speed up the construction progress; discuss with the Vietnam Electricity Group about relocating electric poles in June to serve the project construction; sand mining units ensure output according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee. It is necessary to strengthen close supervision (including the participation of the police force), not to let sand and rocks "go to the wrong place".
Technically, the Provincial Project Management Board should work and resolve contractors' recommendations in accordance with legal regulations; promote project disbursement to increase the province's overall disbursement progress; promptly resolve to ensure policies and legitimate rights of the people./.
