(AG Provincial E-Portal) - The Opening Ceremony of the An Giang Provincial Elderly Sports Festival in 2024 was organized by the Representative Board of the Elderly of An Giang province in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on the morning of October 2.
In 2024, the An Giang Provincial Elderly Sports Festival will feature over 200 athletes from 11 districts, towns, and cities throughout the province. The athletes participated in three sports: cross country, physical training, and chess.
The 2024 An Giang Provincial Elderly Sports Festival is a practical event that commemorates the 33rd anniversary of the International Day of the Elderly (01/10/1991–01/10/2024) and the 29th anniversary of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly's establishment (1995–2024).
Its objective is to foster the movement of physical training and sports among the elderly, as well as to enhance their health and cultural and spiritual lives. This is accomplished by establishing a platform for the elderly to interact and engage in order to enhance their well-being, "living happily— living healthy— living happily," and to continue to dedicate themselves to the construction and preservation of the nation.
