The Lady Temple of Mount Sam will host the Opening Ceremony on May 28, 2024, at 19:30, in celebration of the festival's inclusion in the national intangible cultural heritage list, which spans from 2014 to 2024

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - The Lady Temple Festival of Mount Sam in 2024 was scheduled to be organized by the provincial People's Committee on May 22. This event will commemorate the 195th anniversary of the death of the mythical name of Thoai Ngoc Hau (1829-2024), the 200th anniversary of the completion of the Vinh Te Canal (1824-2024), and the 198th anniversary of the death of Mrs. Chau Thi Te (1826-2024).

Consequently, the Lady Temple Festival of Mount Sam will be held on May 28, 2024, at the Vinh Dong Trade Centre in Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City. This event will coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Lady Temple Festival of Mount Sam, which is anticipated to be included in the national intangible cultural heritage list (2014-2024). It is anticipated that 500 delegates will attend.

The Festival's primary events include the Opening Ceremony of the Lady Temple Festival of Mount Sam, which celebrates its 10th anniversary and is recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage (2014-2024). Additionally, the Art Programme, which is themed "Sacred Land of Van Loc II," is scheduled to be broadcast live on An Giang Radio and Television.

The 195th anniversary of the death of Mr. Thoai Ngoc Hau (1829–2024) is scheduled to be held at the Thoai Ngoc Hau Mausoleum from 06/7/2024 to 11/7/2024 (with the intention of observing 01/6–06/6 Âl).  The celebration will feature a variety of activities, including the Ordinary Worship Ceremony and the Priesthood Ceremony. Additionally, the street festival "Thoai Ngoc Hau, Tan Lo, Kieu Luong" and cultural, artistic, and sports events will be organized to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the audience.

Furthermore, Chau Doc City will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Vinh Te Canal's completion (1824-2024) and the 198th anniversary of Mrs. Chau Thi Te's death (1826-2024) from November 14, 2024, to November 15, 2024, with the goal of aligning with the 14th and 15th of October in the Lunar Calendar. The Celebration includes a variety of activities, including the Ordinary Worship Ceremony, the Priesthood Ceremony, the Scientific Seminar "200 Years of Vinh Te Canal - History, Heritage and Contemporary Issues," the Performing Arts "Song of Vinh Te Ha," the Patriotic Canal Games, and the Cultural and artistic space "Alluvial Stream."

The Lady Temple Festival of Mount Sam endeavors to be an intangible cultural heritage that represents humanity by organizing the Lady Temple Festival and significant events to preserve, honor, and promote the values of intangible cultural heritage at the national level. Simultaneously, to promote and introduce the potential, advantages, and images of An Giang land and people, historical relics, and typical and unique cultural heritage values of the locality, it is necessary to educate historical and cultural traditions, arouse pride and love for the motherland, and encourage cadres, Party members, armed forces, and people of all classes in the province to actively emulate those who are determined to build and develop An Giang – the hometown of President Ton Duc Thang – to become increasingly civilized and beautiful.
