Warming the hearts of students during the exam season, a meal that is prepared with love

29/06/2024 |

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - The high school graduation exam was administered at the appointed time, during which volunteer teacher groups in Long Xuyen City organized cooking demonstrations and provided thousands of complimentary "support" to students.

Mr. Vo Thanh Tung's team has been preparing rice for students during each exam season for over a decade. The small house on Bui Van Danh Street (My Xuyen Ward) is home to over 20 participants, including pensioners, teachers, police, and others. The organisation prepared hundreds of meals for the elderly and children at nurturing centres in Long Xuyen city, in addition to the number of meals prepared for students.

The team has been occupied since the early morning hours, preparing dishes, packing lunch boxes and loading boxes in preparation for transportation to the donation points. Each individual provided assistance in a timely and urgent manner, guaranteeing that the rice portions were still hot and delectable when they were delivered to the students.

Nguyen Khuyen High School (Phu Hoa town, Thoai Son district) was the farthest location; the group provided 660 meals to students over the course of the two-day exam. Furthermore, An Giang University provides volunteer students with an additional 35 meals per day.  Each student received an additional bag of refreshing lemon tea in addition to the satisfying meal.

Additionally, Chau Van Liem Primary School maintains an area for the preparation of rice and the provision of meals to students at no cost during the examination season. The school has maintained the organisation of cooking rice for students taking the high school graduation exam for three years, as a result of the kindness of Mr. Tung (formerly the Principal of Chau Van Liem Primary School). In addition to providing food assistance, the school also provides a place for the students to rest between two exams.

Mr. Doan Tri Tho, the principal of Chau Van Liem Primary School, stated that the principal of Nguyen Cong Tru High School (My Hoa Hung commune) "placed an order" prior to the official exam date. He also mobilised and informed the students at other exam sites. The team makes 250 meals each session as a volunteer effort. The menu comprises savoury dishes, soups, stir-fries, and desserts. In the spirit of everyone contributing what they have (money, vegetables, tubers, meat, and fish), the majority of the funds for implementation are sourced from the source of socialisation and mobilisation of the parents of the school.

On the final exam day, the students arrived at the cafeteria in a flurry at the end of the morning. In particular, a representative of the People's Committee of Long Xuyen City visited today to inquire about the candidates' circumstances. The good news is that all students are enthusiastic about their examination performance.

The education sector has been responsible for the organisation of the high school graduation exam in a gentle and efficient manner for many years, thereby alleviating the stress on both students and teachers.  The entire society came together to share warm gestures of care, bolstering the students' efforts during the exam days and spreading the beautiful and loving image of Uncle Ton's homeland.
