(AG Provincial E-Portal) - In honour of Vietnam Family Day (28/6), the Women's Union of An Giang province convened a meeting on the morning of June 28 to recognize "Families overcoming difficulties to raise children successfully" and to present the prize for the "Online Folk Dance" contest in 2024. The theme of the occasion was "Happy family, prosperous country."
Deputy Head of the People's Mobilization Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of An Giang Provincial Agencies and Enterprises, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province, Ms. Ha Minh Trang, Secretary of the Party Union of An Giang Provincial Women's Union, Ms. Phan Thi Diem, and representatives of departments, industry; 11 districts, towns, and cities, and 51 families who successfully overcame difficulties in raising children attended the meeting.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen, the Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Women's Union of An Giang Province, underscored that families that overcome adversity may have varying circumstances and occupations in various industries; however, they all make the same effort to successfully raise their children and become contributing members of society. This time, the 51 families who surmounted challenges were commended for their successful nurturing and education of the next generation, contributing to the province's socio-economic development by instilling values, ethics, and talents.
The teams that participated in the Online Folk Dance Contest were awarded prizes by the Women's Union of An Giang province during the meeting. The Women's Committee of the Provincial Police was awarded the first prize, while the Women's Union of the Provincial Military Command and the Women's Union of Thoai Son district were awarded the second prize. The Women's Union of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Women's Union of Long Xuyen City, and the Women's Union of Chau Phu District were awarded the third prize. Furthermore, nine teams were awarded consolation prizes.
The Women's Union of An Giang province has organised the Folk Dance Contest for the second time, with the theme "Healthy and Beautiful Women in An Giang." 18 units from the Women's Union of districts, towns, cities, and units participated enthusiastically in the contest, and 216 contestants performed.
