(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day, on February 26, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong met with a delegation of outstanding representatives of the health sector, including Labor Heroes, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, People's Doctors, professors, scientists, outstanding doctors and pharmacists, and awarded the title of People's Physician in 2024.
On this occasion, the President conferred the title of People's Physician on 46 excellent physicians of the health sector. An Giang health sector was honored to have 2 People's Physicians conferred and awarded this time. They are: Dr. Specialist II Nguyen Thi Hanh, former Director of An Giang Central General Hospital (An Giang Department of Health) and Dr. Specialist II Huynh Van Nen, former Principal of An Giang Medical College (An Giang province), Chairman of An Giang Provincial Medical Association.
These are also the first two People’s Doctors of the province, a great honor and pride, not only for the health sector, but also for An Giang province. This is the highest title that the State bestows on those working in the health sector, who have made many contributions to the cause of protecting, caring for and improving people’s health.
During her years as Director of An Giang Central General Hospital, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hanh always strived for the cause of caring for and protecting people’s health. Step by step, she led An Giang Central General Hospital to develop to what it is today.
During his career, Dr. Huynh Van Nen has made many contributions to the An Giang health sector in terms of technical expertise and scientific research, contributing to providing medical human resources for the province./.
