Deputy Minister, Vice Chairwoman of Central Commission for Ethnic Minorities Affairs Nong Thi Ha; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung; former Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Sau and nearly 250 official delegates representing ethnic minorities in the province attended the Conference. 

In the period of 2019 - 2024, ethnic work and ethnic policies in the province have achieved positive results in the fields of: Economy, culture, education, health, employment, sustainable poverty reduction... Since then, the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities has been significantly improved. The electricity system, roads, schools, and stations in ethnic minority areas are guaranteed, helping people feel secure in working, producing, and building a new life. In particular, the three national target programs (sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas) and many other ethnic programs, projects, and policies continue to be implemented by all levels and sectors, achieving many important results.

Speaking to direct at the Congress, Deputy Minister, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Commission for Ethnic Minorities Affairs Nong Thi Ha suggested: “The Party Committee, government, unions, and socio-political organizations of An Giang province continue to thoroughly grasp the viewpoints, policies, and guidelines of the Party and State on ethnic affairs, great national unity, and ethnic policies; in order to improve the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities, narrow the gap between regions and localities in the province. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to preserving and promoting good tradition of cultural values, tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the locality, linking tourism with preserving and promoting ethnic cultural values. In addition, the quality and effectiveness of education and training, especially training, fostering, and vocational training for ethnic minority workers must be improved; and the people must be paid attention in health care,…”.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and ethnic minorities in the province continue to identify and raise awareness and responsibility for ethnic work; Continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines, policies and resolutions, the State's policies and laws on ethnic work. At the same time, it is necessary to promote the spirit of great national unity; strongly innovate the content and methods of propaganda and mobilization of the people, especially in extremely difficult areas and ethnic minority areas, in order to strongly promote the heroic revolutionary historical tradition, the cultural identity of ethnic groups, arouse patriotism, the will to be self-reliant and the aspiration to rise up to build and develop the homeland and the country...

The quality of cultural, social security and social welfare fields shall be improved. In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on implementing the policies and directions of the Politburo and the Government on the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, striving to complete it in 2025; Launch and widely, effectively implement emulation movements and campaigns associated with the political tasks of each locality, so that ethnic minorities, together with the people in the province actively work and produce, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 11th An Giang Provincial Party Congress... 

On this occasion, the provincial Commission for Ethnic Minorities Affairs and An Giang Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic work and ethnic policies in the period of 2019 - 2024./.
