Youth of Chau Thanh harness their energy to build their homeland

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - In recent years, the youth activities and movements in Chau Thanh District have continuously been strengthened, developed, and achieved encouraging results, with many meaningful projects and initiatives attracting a large number of Youth Union members (YUMs) to participate. These efforts have promoted unity, dynamism, creativity, and the ambition of the youth, actively contributing to the development of the homeland of Chau Thanh.

Handing Over a Charity House to a Family in Need

Mr. Truong Thanh Trung, the Secretary of the Chau Thanh District Youth Union, shared that local Youth Union branches have proactively built plans and integrated them into the Union's work programs and youth movements. Youth Union members at all levels in the area have enthusiastically engaged in creative labor, studying, and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh. Local Youth Union branches have organized programs for YUMs and students to learn and understand the Party’s policies, the State's laws, and to integrate legal education in various formats, such as through group activities, forums, and democratic debates. Additionally, efforts have been made to enhance public awareness about drug prevention, fire safety, environmental protection, traffic safety, and local security; as well as to collaborate with educational institutions to assist and encourage underperforming youth.

The Chau Thanh District Youth Union Standing Committee regularly launches movements with diverse and practical content, providing opportunities for YUMs to develop their skills, improve their work and life efforts. Notable initiatives include the "Voluntary Haircut Club for Community Life," health insurance card donations to Youth Union secretaries and youth leaders, "Lighting Up Rural Roads," and startup capital support.

Furthermore, the youth of Chau Thanh have actively participated in administrative reforms, labor production, and business activities, encouraging youth investment to foster economic development and create wealth. Over the past year, the District Youth Union has completed seven youth projects, which are closely aligned with social and economic development tasks, in celebration of the upcoming Vietnam Youth Union Congress for the 2024-2029 term. The total value of these projects exceeds 500 million VND, while Youth Union branches at the grassroots level have carried out 46 projects, contributing a value of over 690 million VND.

Free Medical Examinations and Medication for the Public

With the spirit of "Wherever there is a need, there is youth," local social organizations and Youth Union branches have carried out various youth projects, such as the "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday" events, which attracted a significant number of YUMs. These projects have promoted the "Each Youth a Creative Idea" campaign, the construction of youth roads, entrepreneurial support, and the transfer of scientific and technological advances in production. The youth have also supported the poor, gifted students, policy families in difficult situations, and mothers of Vietnamese heroic martyrs, while providing charity houses for those in need. Blood donations, free medical examinations, and medication distributions have been organized to assist the less fortunate.

Recognizing the crucial role of youth in the national target program for rural area development, local Youth Union branches have increased their advocacy for the objectives, criteria, and indicators of the New Rural Area program. The "Youth Together to Build New Rural Areas" movement, which is tied to various youth projects, includes constructing bridges and rural roads, lighting up rural areas, improving environmental cleanliness, establishing clean water systems, and creating playgrounds for children. These initiatives are actively being implemented in communities working toward achieving new rural area standards.

With the spirit of "Wherever there is a need, there is youth," local communes, towns, and affiliated Youth Union branches have actively carried out youth projects, alongside initiatives such as "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday." These activities have attracted a large number of Youth Union members to participate. These initiatives include promoting the campaign "Each Youth a Creative Idea," constructing youth roads, supporting youth entrepreneurship, organizing training for the transfer of scientific and technological advancements in production, visiting and presenting gifts to underprivileged youth, academically gifted students, families with policy beneficiaries in difficult circumstances, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.

Mr. Truong Thanh Trung, the Secretary of Chau Thanh District Youth Union, emphasized that in the upcoming period, local Youth Union branches will continue to innovate and enhance the quality of youth work and movements, contributing to the strengthening of the Youth Union organization. At the same time, efforts will be made to intensify the advocacy and education of morality and lifestyle for YUMs, with various forms of cooperation to successfully implement youth projects. Special focus will be placed on advancing movements like "Youth Volunteering for Economic-Social Development and National Defense," "Supporting Youth to Build Their Career and Start a Business," and assisting youth in starting their own businesses.
