(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On June 19, Kien Giang University held a conference to announce the decisions of the Minister of Education and Training on personnel affairs and to introduce the University's Rector and Vice Rectors. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province, attended the conference.

At the conference, the University announced the Decision of the Ministry of Education and Training on the appointment of the Rector of Kien Giang University.
Accordingly, the Minister of Education and Training decided to appoint Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee of Kien Giang University, as Rector of Kien Giang University for a five-year term.
"At the same time, the University announced the decision to appoint two Vice Rectors of Kiên Giang University, namely: Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Rector of Kien Giang University pledged to work with the University's leadership to develop Kien Giang University into a center for high-quality human resource training for An Giang Province and the Mekong Delta region.
According to Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho, in the coming time, Kien Giang University has identified 7 key orientations: developing the University into a center for high-quality human resource training aligned with the advantages of the Mekong Delta region; comprehensively innovating training activities with a learner-centered approach; building an innovation ecosystem in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW; promoting comprehensive digital transformation; developing a team of staff and lecturers with international integration capabilities; expanding cooperation between the University and enterprises and local authorities; and creating a humane, disciplined, and inspiring university environment.

On this occasion, Kien Giang University signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) An Giang Branch and Bao Viet Insurance Company. In addition, the University received funding from enterprises to support training activities, scientific research, and infrastructure development.
