Vinh Te Canal is considered the "Mother canal" to form the T5, T4, T3 canals, these canals have their source starting from Vinh Te Canal, forming a dense irrigation network bringing fresh water from Hau River deeply into the Long Xuyen Quadrangle, this system helps distribute water evenly, improve the drainage system (flood drainage), provide stable irrigation water, help wash away alum, lead alluvium to improve the soil, increase soil fertility, improve farming conditions to make rice grow well and give high yield, with the production from 1 to 2 bumper crops and it is moving to 3 crops. The systematic and synchronous investment with large irrigation works over a long period of time has transformed the Long Xuyen Quadrangle from a deserted, heavily alum-contaminated area into a rich production area, a key food production area of the Mekong Delta and has emerged as a key rice production area of the whole country.
At the same time, the resonance of values makes Vinh Te canal become a tourist journey with ecological landscape, history - culture, on land - by boat, diversifying local tourism types to serve tourists in the new period.
