(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of April 2nd, during their working visit to Laos, the An Giang provincial delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho, paid a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Paksé city, Champasak province (Laos). Ms. Ta Phuong Dung, Consul General of Vietnam in Paksé city, Champasak province, welcome the delegation.
During the visit, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho expressed his appreciation for the valuable contributions of the Consulate General in strengthening cooperative relations between localities of the two countries, promoting economic, cultural, and educational exchanges, as well as supporting the Vietnamese community in Laos to stabilize their lives.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho, stated that 2025 is a year of significant milestones for An Giang province. During this year, the province implemented the policy of consolidating and streamlining the organizational structure and establishing a two-tiered local government. The province's socio-economic situation is developing positively, with many sectors and fields experiencing high growth compared to the same period last year. In particular, the province's economic growth in 2025 is projected to reach 8.39%, ranking first among the provinces in the Mekong Delta.
An Giang province has the honor of being selected to host the APEC 2027 Conference in Phu Quoc. Currently, preparations for the conference are being carried out vigorously and on schedule.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho wished all staff and employees of the Consulate General good health, happiness, and much success in their work; and wished the Consulate General continued success in fulfilling its important role as a Vietnamese diplomatic representative agency in Laos, making practical contributions to consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam-Laos friendship.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province expressed his hope that the Consulate General would continue to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between An Giang province and localities in Laos, contributing to socio-economic development and improving the lives of the people.
Consul General of Vietnam in Paksé city, Champasak province, expressed her pleasure in welcoming the delegation from An Giang province and provided information on the political, economic, and social situation in Laos.
In the coming time, Comrade Ta Phuong Dung hopes that An Giang province will continue to strengthen cooperation with localities in Laos in the fields of green agriculture, tourism, energy, education, and human resource training; focusing on connecting businesses from both sides to survey and explore investment opportunities in areas where they currently have strengths.
