Speaking to direct the congress, Comrade Nguyen Kim Quy acknowledged and commended the achievements made by the Youth Federation chapters at all levels in An Giang Province in recent times. She also requested continued effective implementation of the “I Love My Homeland” movement, closely linked with the task of local socio-economic development.

The Youth Federation needs to focus on researching solutions to innovate methods of gathering and uniting young people in the new situation. Particular attention should be given to digital transformation and supporting youth in innovative startups, while also improving the quality of the Federation’s organization from the grassroots level to build the An Giang Provincial Youth Federation into an increasingly strong organization, worthy of being a trusted companion to young people.

Speaking at the congress, Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong emphasized that the congress is taking place at a time when An Giang Province is implementing the two-tier local government model. This merger not only changes the organizational structure but also opens up new development space, making An Giang the province with the largest population and natural area in the Mekong Delta region.

An Giang has potential in agriculture, marine economy, border trade, cultural-spiritual tourism, and inter-regional logistics, and is actively preparing for the APEC 2027 High-Level Conference in Phu Quoc. In this strong wave of development, more than 539,000 young people in An Giang are an especially important resource, a pioneering force carrying the aspiration for renewal and a spirit of dedication to their homeland.

She also pointed out the shortcomings that need to be addressed soon, such as the fact that capturing youth sentiments in some areas has not been timely, Federation activities still lack innovation, and the Federation organization must adapt more quickly to the differences in local areas after the merger.
