(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of August 6, Ho Van Mung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, chaired a working session with the State Bank of Vietnam - Region 15 Branch and credit institutions on the situation of credit growth serving the province’s socio-economic development. Also attending was Le Trung Ho, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee.
At the working session, the State Bank of Vietnam - Region 15 Branch reported that An Giang province currently has 35 banks, 42 people’s credit funds, and 1 financial institution; with a total of 417 transaction points. This network helps meet the capital, payment, and banking service needs of residents and businesses in the area.
As of the end of June 2026, the total outstanding loans in the province reached VND 282,001 billion, up 4.53% compared to the end of 2025, of which 82% of the loans served production and business activities.
By the 3 economic sectors: Credit for agriculture, forestry, and fisheries reached VND 60,997 billion, up 6.15%; Credit for industry and construction reached VND 33,393 billion, up 3.69%; Credit for trade and services reached VND 187,611 billion, accounting for 66.5% of total outstanding loans; Credit for agricultural and rural development continued to play a leading role, reaching VND 160,865 billion, accounting for 57.1% of total outstanding loans; Export credit reached VND 4,823 billion, up 21.45%; Outstanding loans to small and medium-sized enterprises reached VND 39,160 billion; Social policy credit reached VND 15,100 billion, up 12.03% compared to the beginning of the year.
As of the end of June 2026, credit growth continued to be associated with quality control and operational safety. Capital mobilization increased by 8.01%, meeting about 70% of the capital needed for lending to serve local socio-economic development…
In his concluding remarks at the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested that departments, agencies, offices, and units, especially the Department of Finance and the Associations, seriously step up communication and dissemination of support policies for enterprises.
He also urged diversification of dissemination methods and full, timely updates of practical and effective policies that closely reflect reality, while providing consulting support on production and business plans and innovation.
At the same time, he called for maximum use of digital technology, the press, and social media to bring policies closer to enterprises.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the State Bank of Vietnam - Region 15 Branch report to the State Bank of Vietnam on the specific situation of credit growth and the ability to mobilize capital sources; and to ensure a balance between risk management to avoid bad debts and promoting economic development.
At the same time, he requested that commercial banks review and simplify administrative procedures to facilitate customers' access to capital, especially new customers.
Commercial banks must proactively support enterprises in developing feasible loan plans and prioritize capital for the key sectors of An Giang province such as high-tech agriculture, marine economy, and high-quality rice production…
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Provincial Business Association enhance its role and proactively support its members in accessing capital and improving production and business capacity. This should be done by coordinating training sessions and inviting experts to advise on developing feasible plans for enterprises and startups.
He also emphasized the need to innovate dialogue sessions and "Business Coffee" programs to effectively disseminate support policies, etc.
At the same time, the Chairman requested that the Department of Home Affairs guide the Provincial Business Association in urgently completing the procedures to unify its organizational structure in order to improve the Association’s operational effectiveness.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested that the Department of Finance take the lead and coordinate with the Office of the Provincial People's Committee to consolidate all guiding opinions and recommendations from departments and sectors, and advise on finalizing the conclusion document, with specific tasks assigned to each unit.
At the same time, the Department of Finance is responsible for submitting periodic reports on the results of credit implementation and enterprise support in order to promptly address any difficulties and obstacles that arise.
