(AG Provincial E-Portal) On June 18, Ho Van Mung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee, led a provincial working delegation on a visit to congratulate the An Giang Newspaper and Radio – Television Station on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2026).
The delegation also included representatives of the Standing Board of the Provincial People’s Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Commission for Communications, Education and Mass Mobilization of the Provincial Party Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Provincial Journalists’ Association, and other relevant units.

At the working session, Director of the An Giang Newspaper and Radio – Television Station Le Van Chuyen presented a general report on the organization’s operations following the restructuring of its apparatus. The agency currently has 232 public employees and workers; it operates a multi-format journalism model comprising print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, and digital platforms.
Since the beginning of 2026, the An Giang Electronic Newspaper has recorded more than 5.3 million visits and approximately 7 million page views. The agency also maintains radio broadcasting on two FM frequencies and operates three television channels — ATV1, ATV2, and ATV3 — along with a system of digital platforms serving information and communication work.
The agency’s leadership also reported that, since the time of the merger, the unit has published and broadcast more than 114,000 news items, articles, and programmes; among them, more than 5,700 in-depth political commentary works serving the protection of the Party’s ideological foundation and the refutation of erroneous and distorted information; while also stepping up the dissemination of tasks related to socio-economic development, national defence and security, and preparations for the 2027 APEC Summit.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung acknowledged and commended the results the unit had achieved over the past period, particularly its role in accompanying the province in the work of information and the dissemination of the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws; in publicizing matters serving socio-economic development, the implementation of the two-tier local government model, and preparations for the 2027 APEC Summit.
Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung emphasized that, in the face of the vigorous development of science and technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, the An Giang Newspaper and Radio – Television Station should regard this as an opportunity to innovate, make breakthroughs, and narrow the gap with more developed counterparts.
The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee suggested that the An Giang Newspaper and Radio – Television Station study solutions for developing the press economy and effectively capitalize on the cultural, sporting, and tourism events in which the locality holds strengths; and that it leverage its advantages in organizing the production and communication of large-scale events in order to generate revenue and enhance the agency’s brand.

Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung also spoke highly of the opening of a representative office in Phu Quoc, regarding it as an appropriate direction for expanding the scope of operations and effectively tapping into new communication opportunities. At the same time, he requested that the unit continue to step up the application of artificial intelligence in producing journalism and communication products, meeting the development requirements of the new phase.
Regarding the unit’s recommendations, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that the Provincial People’s Committee would continue to accompany it and direct the departments and sectors to coordinate closely with the An Giang Newspaper and Radio – Television Station; to help resolve difficulties within their jurisdiction; and to create favourable conditions for the agency to continue developing and successfully fulfilling its assigned political tasks.
On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung extended his best wishes to the entire body of cadres, public employees, and workers of the An Giang Newspaper and Radio – Television Station; he wished the team of journalists continued good health and happiness, and that they would continue to uphold their political mettle and their spirit of innovation and creativity, successfully fulfilling their assigned tasks.
