In 2023, An Giang's PCI index is outside the Top 30 in the country; The Provincial Green Index (PGI) is also not in the Top 30 nationwide. Among the 10 component indexes of PCI An Giang in 2023, there are 6 indexes increasing and 4 indexes decreasing compared to 2022. Specifically, 6 indexes increasing include: Access to land, time costs, fair competition, dynamism of the provincial government, labor training, legal institutions and security and order. There are 4 remaining indexes that decreased, including: Market entry, transparency, unofficial costs, and business support policies.
For the 2023 DDCI Index, through the results of assessing the competitiveness of 20 departments, branches, authorities and 11 districts, towns and cities of the province, it shows that a number of important industries and fields of the province impacting directly on investment, production and business has not been highly appreciated by the business community for the quality of economic management.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc emphasized that in order to effectively improve the business environment, enhance competitiveness, promote investment attraction and support businesses in the coming time, departments, authorities, branches and localities of the province need to focus on closely following and effectively implementing the operating directions of the Government, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee on improving the business environment, enhancing provincial competitiveness, and socio-economic development tasks. Accordingly, it is necessary to strengthen dialogue with businesses according to industries, fields and localities in charge; promptly and effectively resolve difficulties and problems of businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
For heads of departments, authorities and branches of the province and Chairman of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, they should continue to thoroughly grasp and implement Official Dispatch 436/UBND-TH, dated April 21, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the Prime Minister’s Official Dispatch No. 280/CD-TTg on rectifying and strengthening responsibility in handling the work of ministries, agencies and localities. It is necessary to increase responsibility in the direction, administration, and inspection towards implementing tasks, public duties, discipline, and administrative discipline within the scope of assigned state management, to prevent the situation of cadres, civil servants and public employees have harassed and caused trouble to people and businesses.
Mr. Le Van Phuoc noted that departments, branches and localities should strengthen and further promote the effectiveness of An Giang province's electronic information portal, electronic information pages of departments, branches and localities. At the same time, they should thoroughly review and analyze the component indexes under responsibilities, especially those with reduced scores to have appropriate plans and solutions to steadily improve and enhance the quality of the component indexes. In addition, based on the results of the competitiveness assessment at the department, board, sector and local level in 2023, heads of departments, branches, authorities and localities with low scores and ranking must consider and evaluate themselves about the operating method to adjust appropriately.../.
