(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On January 11, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Mung conducted an on-site inspection and urged contractors to accelerate construction progress of Component Project 1 under Phase 1 of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway project.

According to the An Giang Provincial Project Management Board, the total construction output of four packages—Nos. 42, 43, 44 and 45—covering the main works has reached 69.82%, exceeding the target by about 0.12%. The corresponding executed value is estimated at VND 5,858 out of VND 8,391 billion, up 3.35% compared with the previous inspection (equivalent to VND 281 billion).
In addition, the contractor has completed 78% of the resettlement area serving households affected by the project, which is expected to be completed by January 31, 2026. The Provincial Project Management Board is also urgently implementing procedures for the construction of the interchange at Km38, investing in a complete intelligent traffic management system, rest areas and other public-service facilities.

Following the inspection, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Mung acknowledged the efforts of contractors in accelerating construction progress. In particular, he commended Truong Son Construction Corporation and Thanh Huy Group Joint Stock Company for actively implementing construction and meeting or exceeding the required schedule.
Regarding Hai Dang Joint Stock Company, the contractor for Package No. 43, which failed to meet requirements for shortening the construction timeline, the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee directed the Provincial Project Management Board to resolutely handle the issue by reallocating workloads to other members of the package consortium for continued implementation.
The Chairman requested contractors to flexibly apply solutions to speed up progress, urgently organize construction, arrange “three shifts, four crews,” strengthen equipment, machinery and manpower, and work “through sunshine and rain” to ensure construction progress as planned.
Regarding material supply, Ho Van Mung praised Antraco Joint Venture Company Limited for its efforts in ensuring a stable stone supply for the project. He requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in accordance with legal regulations and the enterprise’s proposals, to consider increasing capacity and conducting surveys to assess sand and stone reserves, thereby promptly advising the Provincial People’s Committee on solutions to secure material supply for the project.
For the resettlement area, the Km38 interchange, the intelligent traffic management system, rest areas and other facilities, the Chairman requested the An Giang Provincial Project Management Board to coordinate closely with relevant departments to urgently implement these items, ensuring readiness when Component Project 1 of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway project is put into operation.
At the same time, the Chairman emphasized that the Provincial Project Management Board and contractors must ensure construction quality alongside efforts to accelerate progress. In particular, there must be measures to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital in compliance with legal regulations.

On this occasion, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Mung presented gifts to encourage the workforce currently working at the construction site./.
