Delivering directing remarks at the meeting, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung called for the assurance of security, political stability, and social order and safety during the September 2 National Day holiday. The military, police, and border guard forces were to maintain combat readiness; agencies and units, especially those along the border, must not be subjective or negligent in guarding against bad actors and hostile forces. He also called for stepping up communication on the significance of the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), and for encouraging residents to fly the national flag during the holiday.
Security, order, traffic safety, and food safety were to be ensured in the localities, especially in areas with tourist sites. The Department of Construction and the Department of Agriculture and Environment were to pay close attention to monitoring the weather, and to resolutely prohibit watercraft from operating in bad weather. Agencies, units, and localities must proactively coordinate to remind tourism and travel businesses, so as to prevent the overcharging of tourists and to preserve the image of the province’s tourism.

Regarding preparations for the new school year, Chairman Ho Van Mung reminded units and localities to strictly implement the directing documents of the Central Government and the province; to proactively prepare schools and classrooms and textbooks; to encourage all children to attend school; and to pay attention to poor students and policy-beneficiary groups. In the process of reorganizing educational institutions, the assignment of school principals must be carried out in a fair and objective manner, without being influenced by personal considerations or interference.
He called for strengthening the evaluation of cadres and the responsibility of the heads of agencies, and for tightening public-service discipline; with regard to cadres who display a mindset of apprehension or avoidance, or who slow down work progress, it was recommended that the Provincial People’s Committee report to the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee and the Provincial Party Committee for the reassignment of such cadres, so as not to allow a single link to affect the entire system.
With respect to the disbursement of public investment capital, Chairman Ho Van Mung required that, by September 30, the 20 provincial-level investors together with the 102 communes, wards, and special zones across the province must reach a disbursement rate of at least 70%.
