They also visited and presented gifts to encourage the engineers and construction workers on-site. These vital projects are expected to help shape a modern, synchronized urban landscape while meeting the demands for hosting major international events.

Following the on-site inspection, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc noted visible progress across the project sites. Despite challenges posed by the rainy season and the importation of foreign materials and equipment, several production lines have been fully installed and are ready for operation. Compared to two months ago, the APEC Convention Center, the theater, and various hotel complexes have taken shape and are currently entering the final finishing phase.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister urged ministries, agencies, local authorities, project owners, and contractors to pool all available resources to accelerate progress, ensure quality and absolute safety during construction, and remain determined to complete the projects on schedule - thereby laying a solid foundation for the upcoming APEC Summit and driving sustainable growth for Phu Quoc in the coming years.

On the afternoon of the same day, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc chaired a working session with An Giang Province regarding the progress of infrastructure projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit. All projects are currently progressing on schedule. An Giang Province aims to have the final project completed by around May 31st, 2027, approximately six months ahead of APEC 2027. Among these, several projects are slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026, while key infrastructure works are expected to be finished in the first quarter of 2027.
In addition, the People’s Committee of An Giang Province is coordinating with the APEC Subcommittees and central ministries and agencies to prepare the event’s agenda. The province has also proactively launched seven local sub-projects in preparation for APEC 2027.
