Opening of the An Giang Province Khmer Traditional Arts Festival 2025

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the evening of 03/11, in Go Quao Commune, the Organizing Committee of the 17th An Giang Khmer Culture, Sports and Tourism Day 2025 (the “Festival Day”) held the opening ceremony of the An Giang Province Khmer Traditional Arts Festival 2025.

The An Giang Province Khmer Traditional Arts Festival 2025 attracts 333 artisans and performers from 26 Khmer Traditional Arts troupes of communes and wards across An Giang. Participating teams perform Khmer traditional arts such as singing, dancing, pentatonic ensemble (ngu am), Cha-pay, Chhay-dam drums, and string music, with themes praising the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; the homeland and the country; and celebrating the tradition of solidarity that binds Vietnam’s ethnic communities. The festival also highlights the distinctive features of Southern Khmer traditional attire.

The An Giang Province Khmer Traditional Arts Festival 2025 is part of the series of activities for the 17th An Giang Khmer Culture, Sports and Tourism Day 2025, associated with the Khmer Ok Om Bok Festival. The Festival aims to preserve and promote the rich and unique culture of the Khmer people throughout the province; to discover and nurture artistic talents; and to increasingly meet the public’s demand for participation in and enjoyment of traditional Khmer cultural and artistic activities in An Giang.
