(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On February 26, Kien Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital held a gathering to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Vietnam Medical Doctor's Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2026) and the 5th anniversary of its establishment (2021-2026). Deputy Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Bui Thi Hien, Deputy Director of An Giang Department of Health Chung Tan Thinh, and Đoan Thanh Hung attended the event.
At the ceremony, delegates reflected on the historical significance of Vietnam Medical Doctor's Day, commemorating President Ho Chi Minh's letter to the healthcare sector on February 27, 1955, and the sector's glorious tradition. They also reviewed the hospital's 5-year development journey and expressed gratitude for the contributions of medical professionals across various periods.
After 5 years since its establishment, separating from the Pediatrics and Obstetrics Departments of Kien Giang General Hospital, Kien Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has 400 planned beds, 13 clinical departments, 4 paraclinical departments, and 8 functional rooms, with 555 staff members; the bed occupancy rate is over 100%.
The hospital's management team, medical staff, and doctors strive to fulfill their duties in caring for mothers' and children's health, continuously developing their professional skills, and bringing benefits to medical examination and treatment.
