(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of February 4, Ho Van Mung, the Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary, and Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province met with the Party Committees of Tinh Bien, Thoi Son, Chi Lang, An Cu, and Nui Cam wards and communes. Representatives from provincial departments and local leaders joined the meeting.
At the meeting, representatives from Tinh Bien, Thoi Son, Chi Lang, An Cu, Nui Cam wards and communes reported that they've effectively implemented the Provincial Party Committee's resolution. They've widely promoted it, with 95-98% of party members participating. Various forms of implementation were used, and many documents and action plans were issued for comprehensive leadership. Notably, task assignments followed the "6 clear" principle: clear person, clear task, clear timeline, clear responsibility, clear authority, and clear outcomes.
After implementing administrative unit rearrangement and the 2-level government model from July 1, 2025, the apparatus quickly stabilized and operated effectively. The wards/communes maintained political security and social order, preventing any "hotspots". National defense and border security were ensured, particularly in managing border safety and landmarks along the Vietnam-Campuchia border.
Administrative reform and digital transformation: The wards, communes applied technology to process administrative procedures, striving to resolve documents on time. As a result, 89-99% of documents were resolved. Some areas pioneered cashless payments and QR code in commercial transactions.
Regarding social welfare, during the Lunar New Year (Binh Ngo) in 2026, the wards and communes effectively cared for the poor and policy beneficiaries, distributing thousands of valuable gifts to ensure everyone will have a joyful Spring Festival, welcoming Tet. The units mobilized social resources to provide direct support and built specific poverty reduction plans linked to vocational training and job creation for working-age people.
Regarding socio-economic development tasks, the wards and communes built detailed growth scenarios by quarter and sector, showing high determination. Accordingly, they aim for high growth targets: Tinh Bien Ward targets 13%, Chi Lang Ward 12.8%, Thoi Son Ward 10.3%, Nui Cam Commune 9.8%, and An Cu Commune 10.1%.
After the discussion, Hồ Văn Mừng, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, praised the proactive and serious spirit of local party committees and authorities in disseminating and implementing the Provincial Party Committee's resolution targets in 2025.
Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Mung, requested leaders of wards and communes to continue disseminating and promoting the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress for the 2026-2031 term.They should build specific roadmaps following the "6 clear" principle when implementing Central and Provincial Party Committee Resolutions and Action Programs. This ensures effective exploitation of border economic potential and tourism advantages in Nui Cam area, sustainably, civilized, and preserving ecology and ethnic culture. Accordingly, targets should be implemented with determination, ensuring each official understands local solutions and action programs .
An Giang Provincial People's Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung urged localities to focus on achieving 2026 goals from the start. This includes strengthening organizational structure, implementing a 2-level government model, improving officials' ethics and abilities, and evaluating performance. They should also review key Politburo resolutions and tailor them to the local effectiveness.
Regarding the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2026-2031 term, An Giang Provincial People's Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung emphasized that local Party Committees and Election Steering Committees should ensure timely and successful implementation. They should maintain border security during the election, manage state affairs, review land use planning, and manage public assets properly. They should also prioritize social welfare, especially for the poor households, healthcare, and education; handle citizen complaints and resolve issues at the grassroots level, avoid creating “hot spots”; and focus on military recruitment and management.
An Giang Provincial People's Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung tasked provincial departments and agencies to address local difficulties based on their functions and authority. They should report to the Provincial People's Committee on issues beyond their authority and advise on matters requiring central government attention.
