(AG Provincial E-Portal) -The An Giang Provincial Department of Health on July 30th launched the 2026 Free Health Examination and Screening Campaign. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the launch event alongside representatives from various provincial departments, sectors, and healthcare facilities at all levels.

Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Mr. Tran Quang Hien, Director of the An Giang Provincial Department of Health, said that the campaign is a concrete step in implementing the Party and State's policy on strengthening people's health care, gradually implementing regular health check-ups at least once a year, focusing on disease prevention, early detection and timely treatment.
Accordingly, residents in 102 communes, wards, and special zones in An Giang province will receive free health check-ups, screenings, and consultations; the examination results will be updated in electronic health records for continuous, scientific, and effective health management.
The Director of the An Giang Department of Health requested the entire sector to ensure sufficient medical personnel and equipment, while conducting scientific, safe, and dedicated health examinations. Simultaneously, the director called on local party committees, authorities, departments, mass organizations, and media outlets to strengthen communication efforts, helping residents understand the benefits of periodic health check-ups and encouraging active participation.

According to the plan, the campaign will be implemented for all residents with registered permanent residency in the province. The province aims for 100% of target groups to receive regular health check-ups or screenings by 2026; and 100% of the examination results to be updated in electronic health records.
In addition to facility-based examinations, the healthcare sector - in coordination with local authorities, schools, and businesses - is deploying mobile check-ups as needed and stepping up public awareness campaigns to encourage routine health screenings, shifting the focus from reactive treatment to proactive disease prevention.
