An Giang Department of Science & Technology meets with 5 Tinh Bien wards, districts

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of Jan 9, Deputy Director Phan Van Kien led a team to Tinh Bien, meeting with Tinh Bien, Thoi Son, Chi Lang, An Cu, and Nui Cam to understand local needs for science and technology research, application, and transfer to boost socio-economic growth in 2026.

Leaders from the People's Committee, specialized departments from communes, wards and organizations, science-tech firms, cooperatives, and local groups attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the team discussed science-tech's role in digital transformation, goals, and priorities for 2026. They shared Notice 131/TB-UBND (dated October 22,2025) from the People's Committee of An Giang Province, on proposing provincial science-tech tasks starting 2026. Notice 3007/TB-SKHCN (dated Nov 7, 2025) from the provincial Science and Technology Department on proposing local science-tech tasks for 2026.

Local leaders from the People's Committees of communes, wards shared challenges in managing science-tech and innovation locally, and discussed implementing Resolution 5757-NQ/TW (dated December 12,2024) from the Poliburo on science-tech breakthrough, innovation and national digital transformation .

They also discussed research needs, applying science-tech to socio-economic development, and identifying priority tasks. Plus, they checked out some local models with science-tech potential.

The meeting aimed to help localities propose science-tech tasks, improve management, and implement Resolution 57 on national digital transformation at local government offices or authorities of the localities./.
