(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On August 6, Ho Van Mung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee, held a courtesy reception for a working delegation led by Raïssa Marteaux, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, with the aim of promoting comprehensive cooperation across multiple fields: agriculture, fisheries, tourism, climate change adaptation, infrastructure, technology, logistics, and education and training.

At the courtesy reception, An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung stated that An Giang is a province of large scale within the Mekong Delta region, with an area of nearly 10,000 km² and a population of almost 5 million people. The province enjoys numerous advantages in border trade, with 3 international border gates bordering Cambodia. Together with a synchronized transport network comprising road, waterway, and air routes — and, in future orientation, railways as well — this creates favourable conditions for developing agriculture, marine economy, trade, services, and tourism.
In particular, the special zone of Phu Quoc has been honoured to be selected by the Party and State of Vietnam as the host venue for the 2027 APEC Summit, opening up numerous opportunities to attract investment and strengthen international cooperation.

An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung noted that, over the past period, the cooperative and friendly relationship between An Giang Province and partners from the Netherlands has been effectively implemented across many fields, including agriculture, fisheries, education, technology, human resource development, and climate change adaptation.
On the basis of the existing sound cooperative relationship, together with the locality’s potential and strengths, An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung proposed that the Netherlands continue to support and cooperate in developing a high-quality, low-emission rice production model based on the province’s One Million Hectares of High-Quality Rice Scheme; assist in connecting Dutch enterprises, universities, and research institutes with An Giang Province in order to transfer advanced technologies serving the farming and deep processing of seafood and high-quality shrimp; share solutions and provide technical support on climate change adaptation and water resource management for An Giang Province in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general; and step up investment cooperation in renewable energy, infrastructure systems, logistics, tourism, and more.
At the same time, he proposed continuing to strengthen cooperation in the field of education, enhancing the exchange of lecturers and students and research collaboration between the province’s universities and Dutch educational institutions, with priority given to the fields of green agriculture, water resource management, marine economy, the environment, and climate change.
Given An Giang’s strategic role in the Mekong Delta region as well as the opportunities arising from its preparations to host the 2027 APEC Summit, Ms. Raïssa Marteaux expressed her confidence that the bilateral partnership between the Netherlands and the province still holds considerable room for sustainable and effective development.
Ms. Raïssa Marteaux affirmed that the Netherlands stands ready to strengthen the connection of enterprises, experts, and partners in order to expand cooperation in areas of strength such as water resource management and climate change adaptation, high-tech agriculture, logistics, infrastructure development, and education and training.

An Giang Province pledged to create favourable conditions and provide procedural support in order to attract more Dutch enterprises and investors to cooperate and do business, and to expand investment in the locality.
