At the intersection of Component Project 1 with Provincial Road 943 (under Package No. 45) in Dinh My Commune, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung listened to construction units and contractors report on progress and proposed solutions to remove difficulties and expedite the set schedule.

According to the Provincial Project Management Board, as of August 10, the total executed volume of the four main construction packages reached 79.42%, exceeding the required progress by 0.23%, equivalent to an executed value of approximately 6,664 billion VND. Among them, Package No. 42 reached 83.88%; Package No. 43 reached 75.43%; Package No. 44 reached 80.54%; and Package No. 45 reached 77.70%.

Since the beginning of the year, the executed volume of the entire Component Project 1 has reached over 923 billion VND, equivalent to 11.01% of the contract volume. Notably, all 48.31 km of the main line subgrade have been completed. Contractors have paved over 25 km of the main road surface with asphalt concrete. Along the route, reinforced concrete structures for 33 bridges have been completed. Asphalt paving on main line bridges has been carried out on 15 out of 33 bridges, with the Provincial Road  945 overpass bridge alone fully paved.

Following the field inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized that the timing of bringing the expressway into operation is of paramount importance. The province determined that if the section from the starting point to the Provincial Road 943 intersection can be opened to traffic before the 2027 Lunar New Year, it will significantly help divert traffic and reduce congestion on National Highway 91, while opening an additional transport link from Chau Doc and Long Xuyen to other localities in the region.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested the Provincial Project Management Board and contractors to concentrate maximum manpower, equipment, and machinery to conduct simultaneous, parallel construction on eligible items, avoiding any delays or waiting that could affect overall progress. Regarding material shortages, particularly asphalt for road surfacing, units must proactively work with suppliers to secure materials for construction and prevent supply shortages from becoming project bottlenecks.

The Provincial Project Management Board should proactively coordinate with the State Inspection Council for Acceptance of Construction Works to carry out acceptance procedures concurrently with project completion. The goal is that as soon as the final items are completed and meet technical requirements, acceptance testing can be organized and the route opened to traffic immediately, preventing administrative acceptance procedures from causing delays.
